ABOUT FRANKLY
Frankly is the production agency of creative producer, curator/programmer, composer and musician Frank Veenstra. Frankly was founded in 2021 to provide a synergistic platform for Frank's various activities as a creative producer and curator/programmer.

Frankly enables special, innovative productions and projects in contemporary music with artists from different genres and disciplines. Frankly nurtures and realizes daring ideas from artists and composers, triggering audiences to discover, learn and inspire.
Recent ambitious new productions have been developed with international artists such as Bryce Dessner, Jlin, Lambert, Actress and Nadia Sirota & Lavinia Meijer. With Dutch makers such as Thomas Azier, Bram Stadhouders, LUWTEN and Domniq, innovative formats were developed that toured nationally and internationally along venues such as Southbank Center London, De Singel Antwerp and Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
Frankly initiates its own productions and tours with various partnerships and/or for various clients. Frankly works closely with broadcasting company NTR for the weekly ZaterdagMatinee in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and cultural entrepreneur Johan Idema for the annual touring music theatre series Spraakmakers.
Frank Veenstra
Frank is also artistic director and director of Birds of Paradise, an annual post-genre festival which takes place at Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht. Together with Neil Wallace, he founded Unusual Suspects in 2021, a production agency for innovative music and performance projects at home and abroad. Before that he worked in the capacity of Artistic Manager at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven (2005-2021) and Muziekcentrum Enschede (1994-2005) where he developed many genre-breaking productions and festivals such as Cross-linx, So What´s Next?, Storioni Chamber Music Festival and Tromp percussion.

Frank maintains many close (working) relationships with artists and agencies worldwide. He is a sought-after guest curator for various festivals, series and venues and is active as a coach, advisor and educator for various artists and organizations.
